A business development professional, Moin has 29 years of experience in supporting SMEs and corporates to grow their international footprint. He commenced in the current role with the New South Wales (NSW) Government in Abu Dhabi in October 2011. The role focusses on growing trade and investment linkages of NSW, Australia’s largest state economy and Sydney being the state capital, with the Middle East. Some of the significant outcomes accomplished include:

 Secured Gulf sovereign investments into major state asset privatizations, covering ports, roads and utilities. during the last decade.
 Positioned Sydney as the launch city for InterContinental Hotels Group’s Kimpton and Holiday Inn Express brands in Australia.
 Supported Qatar Airways to commence commercial flight operations to Sydney.
 Facilitated launching the Gulf market presence of Woolworths, Australia’s biggest supermarket chain.
 Led the NSW showcase at Expo 2020 Dubai and promoted its multi-industry capabilities.

Prior to the above role, Moin was Director Exporter Services, Dubai Exports, Government of Dubai (03.2008 – 10.2011). A member of the founding leadership team, responsibilities included developing the service structure and strategies to assist Dubai exporters and promote trade via Dubai. This involved creating export support schemes and forming strategic alliances. A major initiative was promoting Dubai’s Islamic finance verticals globally which resulted in the development of the whole-of-government Dubai Islamic Economy Strategy.

Before joining Dubai Exports, Moin worked for the Australian Trade Commission / Australian Consulate General in Dubai (12.2000 - 03.2008). Having commenced as Business Development Manager and subsequently promoted to Business Development Director, the core focus was to assist Australian companies to establish and grow their Middle East and North Africa market presence. As direct airlinks between Australia and Dubai were established only a few years earlier, the initial emphasis was on developing business relationships with commercial and government entities on an extensive scale.

Moin started his professional career in Dubai with Crown Emirates Company (11.1993 - 07.1998), a subsidiary of Crown Holdings which is a Fortune 500 company, and later joined Concept Food Industries (07.1998 - 12.2000). Both organizations were high-volume manufacturers and enabled Moin to develop his business development and sales skills through exposure to the regional food and beverage industry.

Moin completed his education degree in accounting, economics and finance from the United Kingdom. He has attended a range of export promotion courses conducted by the Austrade Institute and World Trade Organization.
